Message I just felt like sharing my idea for a moment so you jackals can stomp on it and shatter my dreams.

The turbo would go in front of the motor, get rid of the radiator and fan to make room. Run piping from exhaust manifolds to the front where it collects into one pipe, a port for an external wastegate would soon follow, followed by whatever flange needed for the turbo. Could I just run pipes from the stock manifolds? Probably not. Most likely have to make a manifold with equal length runners if I'm going to push sick hp. Run 3" pipe from the turbo straight down and to the back of the car. Intercooler and radiator will be way up front, something like Paul Beckman has done. Maybe even make an intercooler out of 4 stock intercoolers like he did also. At first I would split the output of the intercooler to the stock plenum, but maybe later buy a throttle body and weld together a single intake to bolt on the lower plenum.

I've looked around and big singles that flow over 1200cfm are only like $1400-$2000. They flow more then a td05 kit would give you and those cost like $4000 right? I would use mild steel tubing, which is cheap and you can get anywhere, also about a dozen mandrel bent u pipes which are cheap (like $100 from jc whitney right?). Dual electric fans. Border 850cc kit. Some sort of external fuel pump.

Am I missing anything? What do you guys think? What kind of problems would I run into? I have never welded before, can I just get a cheap welding kit and practice with that first and then use that for eveything later on or can I rent a kit? Thanks,

Put your mouse on my sig!
